Veteran – Protein Chocolate Balls

RAW Chocolate Protein Balls

This recipe acts as so many things in my home.

They are a wonderful snack for my children, giving them a perfect amount of raw nuts and seeds.

They are plenty sweet so my kids love them.

They also act as a post-workout snack…giving me the protein my body craves.

They are made with only WHOLE ingredients…nothing processed!

(no protein powders, no processed flour)

They are SUGAR-FREE, OIL-FREE, DAIRY-FREE, GLUTEN-FREE…

AND…They are CHOCOLATE!!!!

They taste delicious!

Raw Chocolate Protein Balls

Ingredients

1 cup raw cashews

1/3 cup raw almonds

1/2 cup raw walnuts

1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds

2 tablespoons raw flax seed

8- 1 oz. coconut date rolls or 8 oz. of any type of date, chopped small

3 tablespoons Cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

1.  Place all of the nuts and seeds in a food processor or powerful blender and finely chop all of the ingredients.  To help grind the flax seed enough, you can always grind this first in a coffee grinder.

2.  Add the chopped coconut date rolls (image below), cocoa and vanilla to the nut and seed mixture.  Process all ingredients together until everything is ground and a tough yet soft dough is created.

3.  Form the dough into bite-sized balls (kids have a lot of fun with this step).  Keep balls in refrigerator or freezer for a quick and easy snack!

Makes approx. 21-24 balls
