Veteran – Foods for Sick Kids

Seeing that we are into the FALL SEASON and winter will be here sooner than we know it, I thought it would be helpful to write about children’s sickness, specifically FEVERS.  My little 6 week old recently woke up with a FEVER (kind of scary) and it reminded me of my thoughts and beliefs about fevers and childhood sickness.  My family and I try to eat a wholesome natural diet…and I also try to HEAL my children a more natural and holistic way.  I believe our bodies can perform miracles if we feed them correct foods and when needed- use natural remedies to help faciliate healing.

My little guy only had a fever for a day and a half and it gave me the opportunity to STOP and HOLD HIM (something that I love to do). I have 3 other kids that I also needed to take care of, but other than that- all my other responsibilites stopped and I took care of my little guy.  I also have an incredible husband who helped me a lot.

I remember the first time I had a child with a fever I was a nervous wreck…with a prayer in my heart I was lead to an amazing article that opened my eyes to what a fever really is and how I should react to it and what I should do.  I wanted to share this article with you.  When you have a moment- I would highly recommend reading it.  It is found HERE on the MOTHERING website.

Also- check out my prior blog HERE that gives everything I do when my children have a fever.

So- as all of you should know- I am NOT A DOCTOR.  But hopefully this information can be of help to some of you out there.

MUCH LOVE!

Veteran Mommy
