Breakfast [B]

Muesli is a European breakfast that essentially consists of oats, grains, and nuts (ideally RAW) soaked overnight and then eaten with fresh fruit.  This is my personal recipe and ANY of the items can be omitted (except the oats).  Feel free to experiment!

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup rolled wheat

1 cup 9 grain cereal blend*

1/8 cup wheat germ

1/4 cup wheat bran

1/2 cup unsweetened coconut

1/4  cup sesame seeds

1/4 cup hemp seeds

1/4 cup sunflower seeds

1 cup raisins

1/2  cup cashew pieces

1/2 cup slivered almonds

1/4 cup dried blueberries

1/4 cup goji berries

2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp salt

Mix all ingredients together and place them in your freezer, either in a storage container or in a ziplock bag.

When you want Muesli for breakfast- Combine 1 cup of the Muesli mix with 1 cup of soymilk or rice milk.  It is best to soak  overnight.  (I have soaked the muesli for about 3 hours and it has worked just fine).

Add fresh chopped fruit as much (or as little) as desired.

Ideas for fresh fruit:

Grapes, Bananas, Mango, Peaches, Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, Apples and Pears.

*The 9 grain blend was purchased at a health food store and consists of red wheat, white wheat, rye, barley, corn, millet, oats, flax and buckwheat.
