    •  I love when my KIDS are hungry!

      I know that might sound silly...and there are times when the words "I'm Hungry" don't come at a convenient time.

      BUT- when my kids tummies are TRULY HUNGRY- is the best time for me to bring out the HEALTHY stuff.  And luckily- this "HUNGER" time naturally happens almost everyday- RIGHT AFTER SCHOOL.

       

      This past week- I have found that my kids eat the BEST when I have it ready for them right when they walk in...

       

      Here is an example of a healthy snack that my kids devour...

      Cucumbers and Carrots with a "Healthier" dressing

      Celery and Peanut Butter

      Fresh Fruit (Grapes, Apples, Oranges, etc.)

      Almonds and Chocolate Chips.

      SO YUMMY!

      Do you ever feel too busy to cook your family a HEALTHY MEAL?

       


      I have been extremely busy lately with work & family life.  This COULD mean I haven't found the time to make healthy meals for my family...but luckily my husband and I are still in the DEDICATED New Year mind frame.  So instead of flaking on our family meals- We have used some of WFM's QUICK MEALS to get it done.


      Only have 5 minutes to make dinner?  Try this!

       


      (I apologize the picture isn't that good...but I promise the food is!)


      MUSHROOM, ONION, AVOCADO POTATO

      I thought I could name this a MOAP...but that doesn't sound too appetizing does it???)

      (serves 2)


      Ingredients

      2 large baked potatoes

      1 container mushrooms

      1 small onion

      1 medium avocado- diced

      Sea Salt - if desired


      Directions

      Saute mushrooms and onions is small amount of water in a medium sized frying pan.  Even without any butter or oil, sauted mushrooms and onions have GREAT flavor!  Add a little salt if desired.

      Place sauted mixture over baked potato (which you can cook in your microwave in 5 minutes) and top with diced avocado.  Season with salt and consume immediately.  So Yummy!

        Definition of "KILLER" recipes:  So yummy good and so yummy healthy and kids even EAT THEM!!!

         

         

        Fresh Tostada Salad

         

      • I made this recipe last week and my whole family LOVED it!  Super easy and so good for you!

         

        Quinoa, Avocado, Sweet Potato Salad

         

      • I LOVE THIS MEAL!  So easy to make and the flavors are irresisible.  My little boy picks off the tomatoes- but everything else he gobbles up!

         

        WFM Super Bean Burritos

         

      • The possibility for this meal is endless!  I had left over rice that I used last week to make these nutrient dense wraps.  SO GOOD!!!

         

        Chocolate Chip Zucchini Muffins

         

        So these might not be the healthiest- but I love making them every now and then for the kids.  I love finding more ways to use my garden zucchini :)

My husband doesn't mind not eating meat daily but he doesn't want to give it up completely which is difficult for me because I don't want to cookn it. Also, is there a guide anywhere to show me the
